1 Gap Year Abroad

It is a BIG decision to cut all ties binding you to everything you know and love, and then to throw caution to the wind, pack up just the necessities and trek to a new country to live abroad for a year. Talk about brave and transcending gutsy! We have momager who is a teacher, big sister the artist, and a mini model and we are crazy enough to decide to pursue adventure, a different way of life, and engaging in a gap year where planning is minimal and destiny takes lead.

Imagine it like entering a dark tunnel and not being able to see where you are going and what lies beyond. That fearfulness and excitement is exactly what we needed and why we decided to pursue this journey!

Mom will be teaching English Literature to high school students, while we attend a bilingual school, assimilate to a new culture and way of life.

In our “free” time we will embark on adventures on all sides of Hispaniola, both the hot spot destinations you may find on Go Dominican Republic and the hole in the wall secret crevices only known to the locals. We would like to travel to Haiti for a first time experience there during the winter months.

What we hope to accomplish? Mom wishes to positively impact youth, sister wants to learn the language, I would like to explore the world of fashion, and we are eager to take on service learning opportunities.

We will share our travel conquests, an an insight into the culture here, our challenges, and anything that surfaces so stay tuned.

Here are a few modeling shots I have done for as a brand ambassador and some of the locations on my bucket list.

And for the bucket list…DR Tourism @GoDomRep has featured these amazing destinations I am committing to visiting and can’t wait to photograph and share:

Scape Park

Bridge at Samanรก

Museo de las Casas Reales

El Salto de Limรณn waterfalls

Parque Nacional los Haitises

Just a few to start… aren’t they breathtaking?
